Are you exhausted from carrying everything?

You might be here because…

You know yourself pretty well. You have reflected, tried to make changes, read the books, listened to the podcasts, or had the conversations. Yet something still feels stuck.

Maybe…

  • You overthink your decisions and struggle to trust yourself.

  • Anxiety or emotional overwhelm makes it difficult to feel present.

  • You're learning how to identify your needs without guilt.

  • People-pleasing, perfectionism, or expectations leave you depleted.

  • You're navigating ADHD-related concerns and want strategies that actually fit your life.

  • Your relationships keep falling into the same patterns of conflict or disconnection.

  • You're in a season of change and aren't quite sure who you are within it anymore.

You don't need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy.

Sometimes the first step is simply becoming curious about what's happening and what you want to be different.

Therapy That Goes Beyond Awareness

Whether you know the pattern or you’re just beginning to notice something isn’t working, therapy can be a place to get curious about what comes next.

Maybe you already know why you people-please, overthink, shut down during conflict, or struggle to ask for what you need.

Or maybe you don't know why at all.

You might simply notice that you're exhausted, disconnected, repeating the same experiences, or responding in ways you don't fully understand.

You don't have to come to therapy with the answers.

Part of our work can be slowing things down enough to notice the patterns, experiences, needs, and beliefs influencing how you move through your life.

And when awareness begins to grow, we don't have to stop there.

Therapy at One Percent Counseling can also be a space to practice what comes next—responding differently, building supportive systems, communicating your needs, reconnecting with your values, and making realistic changes you can carry into everyday life.

This isn't about forcing yourself to change or assuming something needs to be "fixed."

Together, we can build greater awareness, support, and flexibility so you can move toward what matters to you.

Small Steps. Meaningful Change.

Hi, I’m Maraya.

Marriage and Family Therapist Intern + Founder of One Percent Counseling

I work with adults and couples who want to understand themselves more deeply while creating meaningful change in their everyday lives.

My style is warm, grounded, collaborative, and practical. We'll make space for the uncomfortable things—the patterns, relationships, expectations, identities, and experiences that have shaped you—without making therapy feel like another place where you have to perform or "get it right."

I'm especially passionate about supporting concerns related to anxiety, self-worth, relationships, and women's experiences with ADHD.

My work is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, relationship-focused approaches, and specialized training in women-centered ADHD support.

You can expect curiosity, compassion, honesty, and practical strategies tailored to your actual life.

What We Might Work On

Anxiety + Overwhelm

Overthinking, rumination, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, difficulty slowing down, and feeling like you're always anticipating what comes next.

Relationships

Communication, boundaries, recurring conflict, people-pleasing, identifying needs, emotional connection, and developing healthier relationship patterns.

Self-Worth + Self-Trust

Reconnecting with your identity, building confidence in your decisions, understanding old narratives, and learning to listen to yourself again.

Women's ADHD Support

Exploring executive functioning, emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, masking, expectations, and realistic supportive systems—with attention to the cultural and environmental factors that can shape women's experiences with ADHD.

One percent progress.

When helpful, we may identify one grounded next step—a small, realistic shift you can experiment with between sessions.

The One Percent Approach.

Change doesn't have to happen all at once.

At One Percent Counseling, we're interested in the small shifts that become sustainable over time. That might mean learning to notice a thought without automatically believing it, naming a need before dismissing it, creating an external support instead of expecting yourself to remember everything, having the difficult conversation, making one choice that reflects your values, or simply responding to yourself with a little more compassion than you did before.

Self-Awareness

Understanding your patterns, emotions, needs, values, and the stories that have shaped how you see yourself.

Supportive Systems

Building internal, relational, physical, creative, and practical supports that make change more sustainable.

Values-Based Living

Learning to move toward what matters—even when uncomfortable thoughts and emotions come along for the ride.

Small changes aren't insignificant. They're how meaningful change begins.
